Images from our Finca
The finca is part of a landscape of stunning beauty. Here are some photographs from our three year journey.
The finca is part of an ancient cultivated landscape.

As autumn approaches interesting light patterns appear in the clouds.
>
The sunsetsfrom the terrace can be spectacular.
>
Bee-eaters begin to flock before migrating. By the morning they will all have left.
>
Late autumn is also the time when the restriction on burning old wood and plants is lifted.
>
Christmas eve and snow on the lower slopes of the Sierra Nevada, our nothern outlook. In the foreground is the avocado tree. The snow only lasted a few hours
>
The birds change during the winter. Great tits, blue tits, robins and sardinian wablers are regular visitors to the bird table.
>
Serins are also found in the trees.
>
Once the snow falls on the Sierra Gador (which is about 2000 meters) and south west from the finca, it remains till the late spring.
>
The sun rises over the mountain on a misty February morning.
>
>
Winter does not last long and the first blossom appears in February.
>
Late spring and early summer bring out spectacular wild flowers like this brown bee orchid.
>
In the garden the camelias start to flower.
>
The bright light of early summer makes for stunning images of translucent flowers like this Iris in the grey bed.
>
Summer is marked by the departure of the winter birds and the arrival of the summer visitors. Golden oriels and nightingales nest in the trees.
>
There are two major fiests in the vilage. The second takes place at the beginning in August and starts with a flamenco concert.
>
However, even in August you can get storms.
>
The flowers in the southern bed attract many butterflies.
>
>
This salvia blends wonderfully with the other grey blue plants.
>
This grass grew to nearly 1.5 meters in a matter of months and is magnificently illuminated by the setting sun.
>
Moonscapes also have their charm.
>
And the stars can be spectacular.
>
The view to the north shows the bridge over the River Andarax. The river flows along the side of the track but cannot be seen because of the trees.
>
And with autumn the light effects reappear; view to the North East.
>
