This section of my web site shows
aspects of our life years after we moved to the Alpujarra. Unfortunately,
poor health meant we had to find a tennant for the finca and move into a town house
in Cortijo Cabrera. Eventually we will have to sell the property.

We brought the shell of a cortijo on largely derlict finca. This section describes our first year in building the cortijo and clearing the land.

Our cortijo is not connected to electricity grid. We installed a
solar energy system that gave endless problems. My essay "Learning to Live with
Solar Energy" provides an overview of the different approaches to providing
solar energy and provides the information I wish I had possesed before we
started on this project.

When I started to learn Spanish I wrote a computer programme to
help me learn the basic Spanish verbs. It now contains the conjugations of 180
verbs and has a test facility to help you develop your knowledge.
