C-I-SAID can now be downloaded from this site. It is fairly large file 33 MB and is not suitable for downloading using standard 56K modems as it can take a long time at this speed.

 All the documentation requires  the Acrobat Reader. If you do not have a copy you can download the latest version from the Adobe web site Click here to obtain the acrobat reader.

The best procedure is to examine the C-I-SAID booklet  which provides installation information and to check which components you need to download.  Most modern computers will have the required supporting files installed. If you do not have them the required files are all obtainable from the links below.

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL C-I-SAID.

The basic files are found in C-I-SAID.zip file.   This contains the main programme files.  To install the programme 

Download the C-I-SAID main installation file (Appx 33MB) .  Click here to obtain the C-I-SAID file.
Extract the files into an empty folder (Requires winzip - see below)
Open the C-I-SAID booklet  booklet and read the installation instructions. 

The best way to learn C-I-SAID is through the User Guide. This is installed as a help file with the programme but a printable copy can also be downloaded. Click Here to Obtain the User Guide

WHAT YOU NEED TO RUN C-I-SAID

  1. C-I-SAID requires Windows 98 or better on a PC with a 150MHz processor and at least 32MB of memory. 
  2. WINZIP: The files are all contained in WinZip archives and you will need a copy of WinZip to install them. You can obtain an evaluation copy of WinZip from  the WinZip website. Click here to obtain WinZip
  3. ACROBAT READER: The documentation is in Adobe Acrobat format and you will need a copy of  the acrobat reader.  A free copy is obtainable from the Adobe website. Click here to obtain the acrobat reader.
  4. DIrectX: Standard part of windows. Requires version 7a or later. Click here to obtain DirectX. 
  5. Microsoft Data Access:  These files are usually installed with Microsoft Office products.  If you do not have these installed you can download a full set of files from the Code-A-Text ftp site.
Download the files (10MB). Click here to obtain the Data Access Objects.
Extract into a empty folder.
Run SETUP.EXE

On modern computers, nearly all problems that occur straight after installation are because the Data Access files have not be installed.
